What is a “Young Professional”?

OUR HISTORY
IGNITE was formed in 2004 as a program of the Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce.  Its purpose is to unite a diverse group of Young Professionals by fostering activities and civic engagements thus creating investment in our region.  Today IGNITE has grown its mission into providing network opportunities and encouraging community involvement and awareness.

OUR MISSION
IGNITE is a program of the Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce, governed by young professionals, that empowers its members to recognize and enhance the value of living and working in Cayuga County by connecting people and ideas.

WHAT WE DO
IGNITE will help:

  • CONNECT you to other individuals with similar interests and ideas.

Social gatherings every 2nd Tuesday of the month at varying locations throughout community

  • ENGAGE you in what is happening locally, politically, socially and culturally.

Facebook discussions + email updates about local current issues

  • INVOLVE you in the community on various levels

Board service, volunteer + networking opportunities

Steering committee

Our steering committee consists of 15 young professionals that live and/or work in Cayuga County. The committee is responsible for creating an action plan that provides guidance for the following year’s goals and objectives, and meets monthly to discuss current issues and to plan activities.
